A promotion shirt! And a nice one too. This season we got new home and away shirts manufactured by a new supplier, Admiral, sponsored by… Doritos. Many were sad to see Good Year, who had sponsored Wolves for 12 seasons by this point, go but the deal made sense and the return to white away shirts went down well with many.
Finished: Football League Championship (promoted via Play-offs
Honours: Play-offs winners.
Estimated price: Replica: £50+.
The season proved to be one to remember with many of us seeing wolves make the premiership AT LAST at the hallowed ground of… The Millennium Stadium. Wembley Stadium was being rebuilt so thousands of Wolves travelled South West for one of the best days of their lives.
The shirts are hard- wearing with embroidered Admiral badge and have become quite collectable, often fetching north of fifty pounds.
I do think there is a correlation between the price a wolves shirt fetches and the triumphs of that season. And probably rightly so – we had waited a long time for our day in the sun and Dave Jones had taken us back up to that top tier at last. What could possibly go wrong?
