Another shirt aficionado Ant Pratley on a classic 90s keeper shirt as worn by “Mickey Mickey Stowell in our goal in our goal“. By the way, tell us about your favourite shirt! We have a long way to go to get the full set. About time we got another keeper shirt on the site too… Ant writes:
This goalkeeper shirt is possibly my favourite by far mainly due to the The iconic wolf head design that featured in all 4 shirts for the 96/97 season and also this goalkeeper shirt for the 97/98 season.

- Style: 8/10
- Popularity: 8/10
- Quality: 9/10

This shirt is very different as it has the wolves late 90s badge located in the centre of the chest, rather than on the left. The colours are also very different to anything we have had since. The teal part of the shirt is made up of little wolf heads in tessellation with each other.

There is also a border around the blue in ‘old gold’ and the rest of the shirt is red. The shirt also is a round neck and also has WWFC embroidered on the back of the collar, also as pictured you can see Mike Stowell probably wasn’t a fan of this design as he has cut it slightly to make it a makeshift ‘V’ neck

The shirt was worn in the 96/97 and the 97/98 seasons where we finished 3rd and unfortunately never made the play off final, and the following year we finished 9th, it was also worn when we reached the semi finals of the FA cup in the 97/98 season. During these seasons the shirt was predominantly worn by Mike Stowell during the two year tenure but also back up keeper Hans Segers would have worn this as well.
